Find your program

Not sure where to start? We'll match you to the right training.

You can't blame them, if you don't train them. Tell us your dog's age and the behaviour you want to change — we'll point you to the program that fits, plus what it costs and how long it takes. Any breed. Any age. Any behaviour.

Pick your dog's life stage

The right starting point depends on where your dog is in their development — and what's already going wrong.

8 – 16 weeks

You have a new puppy

Critical socialization window

The first four months are the only time you'll get to wire your puppy's brain for confidence. Miss this window and reactivity becomes much harder to fix later.

  • Socialization with new people, dogs, sounds, surfaces
  • Bite inhibition and crate training
  • Sit & Release command and leash basics
  • Confidence-building through novel experiences

4 – 12 months

You have a teenage dog

The "what happened to my puppy" stage

Hormones kick in, the cute puppy phase ends, and suddenly your dog is testing every boundary. This is where most owners give up — and where good training pays off most.

  • Solid sit, down, place, and recall around distractions
  • Loose-leash walking past triggers
  • Door manners and impulse control
  • Foundation for adult off-leash reliability

You have an adult dog that won't listen

Reactivity, aggression, fear, resource guarding

Adult behaviour issues need a real plan, not a six-week class. We work in your dog's actual environment — your home, your walk route, your specific triggers.

  • Leash reactivity to dogs, people, bikes, cars
  • Fear-based behaviours and anxiety
  • Resource guarding and possession aggression
  • Recall and off-leash work for adult dogs

You want a hand, or your dog needs more

Day training, workshops, pack walks

Already have foundations? Day training brings your dog in once or twice a week for a structured 90-minute workout. Workshops, pack walks, and fitness classes give them an outlet — and you a break.

  • Day training workout — $65/session at the facility
  • Reactive Dog and Tricks & Agility workshops — $60/class
  • Pack walks around Halton Hills — $25/walk
  • Mental Stimulation & Fitness drop-ins

Process

How it works, start to finish

1

Book a consultation

$45+hst onsite at the facility, or $180/hr in-home. Required for all new clients. We meet your dog, assess, and recommend.

2

Get a custom plan

Group class, private package, day training, or a mix. We pick what works for your dog and your schedule, not what fills a slot.

3

Train together

You're not dropping your dog off and hoping. We train you to handle your dog, and your dog to listen to you.

4

Real-life proof

Pack walks, public outings, distraction work. Your dog learns to listen where it actually matters.

"We can’t say enough good things about Sit Happens. From the very beginning, they provided helpful, practical tips and training tools that truly made a difference."
